Shout Out for Global Justice
HI Paul,
They are open to receiving more material from us!
Thanks for alerting us to this opportunity to get important content aired on local stations!
Michael
So far the Shout for Global Justice has been broadcast all across Vancouver Island. Rich Hagensen and the Campbell River COC chapter got it on the air in Courtenay, Comox and Campbell River. Jim Riesberry and the Brockville COC chapter have successfully arranged to have it broadcast across Lanark, Leeds and Grenville counties including Brockville, Prescott, Smiths Falls, Kemptville and Perth regions on August 31 with repeats scheduled in October and November. Rick Sawa and the Prince Albert COC chapter have a commitment from their cable provider to air the Shout Out in Saskatoon, Prince Albert, Swift Current and Moose Jaw (we just need Regina on board and Saskatchewan will be covered!).
We have sent copies of the Shout Out to activists and organizations in, Vancouver, Mission, Edmonton, and Northumberland COC. It’s easy to access your local community cable station. If you want to take part in this campaign let me know and I will send you a DVD that you can bring to the programmer of your local community cable station. There is no set fee to take part, it is strictly by donation - pay what you can, if you can. We're hoping that you will contribute a minimum of $20 to help us cover our costs and continue this project but a donation is not required.
The next program we will be making available is a 55 minute compilation of short videos made by journalists and filmmakers covering the Peoples Summit and the G20 protests. This will include contributions from the Real News, Rabble.tv, Velcrow Ripper, Press for Truth and myself among others. This compilation will include stories on the COC canoe flotilla in Huntsville and Maude Barlow measuring the 5 meter distance from the G20 security fence to protest the public works law.
After this second G20 program we will be working with other media activists to create programming that is important for Canadian audiences, covering issues such as the Canadian European Trade Agreement, Net neutrality, Public Private Partnerships, Privatization, Water Issues, Tar Sands and Tankers, Canadian Energy Policy etc.
