Create your local independent Community TV group

You can start by creating a group in this project for your local geographic area and invite others in your area to join. You can start with a small group with a few of your friends or ask other local organizations to join as part of a coalition.

 

Once you have a local group call your local community cable channel and tell them that you want to access the community channel to play programming from the Peoples Summit and the G20.

 

If you run into any roadblocks from the cable channel you can tell them that according to CRTC policy 2002-61 your community group has access to play programming on the community access channel. If they say that the programming must be locally produced you can point out that the cable companies all play programming that they create at their central offices which is not produced locally and that you have a right to do the same thing by playing programming created at the Peoples Summit.
